Where have I been lately?
Just a little place called Two Days Until My Effing Wedding. It's sandwiched between When the Hell is He Going to Propose and Why Does Everyone Keep Asking Me About Babies.
I have been a bit of a hot mess this week. Had my last day of work on Tuesday and have been going nonstop ever since. Putting favors together, getting programs printed (THANKS ANG!), getting a mani/pedi, leaving my super nice umbrella in the fucking cab, talking to the wedding party about details, coordinating things with the hotel, getting my dress pressed... The list goes on and on, and it's pretty mundane shit, so I won't bore you with details.
Our families got in town last night, so we've been hanging out since then. I've also been hitting the bottle nonstop too, which is nice because my dad's the exact same way. And my grandma, if you remember.
At least the weather's supposed to be nice this weekend! Of course, we were going to take some pictures at North Ave. Beach, but the Redbull Flutag is there at the *exact* time we're supposed to be. We might just say "fuck it" and go there anyway.
It's funny, when it gets close enough to the wedding, I just start adopting an attitude of "fuck it, who cares" for everything. Oh, I ordered the wrong size top for my mom as part of her gifts? Fuck it, she likes oversized men's clothes anyway. My rehearsal dinner dress is wrinkly because I balled it up in a bag for a week? Fuck it, Downey Wrinkle Releaser will do the trick. Five guests cancelled after we turned in our final numbers? Fuck it, I'm not updating the seating chart and someone will eat the extra food. Our wedding coordinator is still on a leave of absence and is out of the country? Fuck it, the new planner they give us will be just fine.
After 4.5 years of dating, 3.5 years of living together, a 20-month engagement and more retarded hassles I can count, this wedding has been a long time coming. It's finally here. Let's do this.
If I don't talk to you all between now and the honeymoon (AUSTRALIA), then I'll write some sort of profound recap at the end of September when I return. Swear.

Congratulations! I'm sure everything will come together perfectly-they usually do. I really look forward to pictures because I've been planning my own wedding (despite a technical lack of engagement) forever and I love seeing what other people choose to do. Congrats again!!
Wohoo! Have lots of fun at the wedding (hitting the bottle more?) and during the honeymoon (Australia? awesome choice!)!!
Will be looking forward recap when you get back. :) Congrats!
That is a great attitude to have. GO for it. Jump in with both feet and let's get this going. Congratulations! I can't wait to see pictures. I'll update you on GG.
woohoo! early congratulations!
catch ya when you get back from down under!
Congrats! You're on the homestretch now!
I'll give you a piece of advice that was given to me at my rehearsal dinner: Smile. Smile even if you're freaking out. The mood of the guests ALWAYS reflects the mood of the bride, so SMILE! and they'll remember your wedding as one of the best they've ever attended.
Have a great time, beautiful bride!
Yaaaaay wedding and alcoholism!
You could always go to Oak st. Beach?
I would say congratulations, but for you, somehow...ITS ALMOST OVER!!!!!...seems so much more appropriate. I know you'll look gorgeous and have a fabulous time!
so you are getting married today? congrats, have fun, enjoy the honeymoon in australia - can't wait to hear all about it!
I'm baaack.
HP: Definitely plan your wedding now. If you're anything like me (you are), when you actually *have* to plan it, you will NOT want to do so.
Marie: Recap coming soon! :-)
Bayjb: Can I tell you how GREAT it felt to just say 'fuck it' for a while?
Alexa: Thanks!!
Gwen: At my rehearsal dinner, I actually remembered your advice and I smiled my ass off. And gulped down quite a bit of wine, but I made sure I looked happy doing it.
Joy: I was a little too sedated (uh, literally... more on that later) to be coherent enough to suggest another beach, but I think it turned out okay just the same.
Rebecca: YES, I laughed when I read your comment. Completely appropriate.
Pbandrazz: Thanks! I'll recap this weekend!
